MARRON
Marron is situated in the old farming hamlet of La Thuile, just a short walk from the Auberge sur la Montagne (half board packages are available with meals taken at the Auberge). Sainte Foy resort is just 3kms away, served by a regular shuttle bus service in the winter, and the mega-resorts of Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosiere are a short drive away, making it an ideal base to explore some of the best skiing in theTarentaise valley. The apartment occupies the ground floor of a traditional stone farmhouse which has been lovingly restored by it's owners who live on the upper floors of the house. It's a charming 70m² ground floor apartment offering modern facilities in a rustic setting with period features such as exposed beams, nooks and crannies and the "secret" door separating the main bedroom from the living room. This means that it can be configured to sleep 4-6 people using both bedrooms, or 2-4 people using only the second bedroom.
The accommodation for 2-4 people (second bedroom only) or 4-6 people (both bedrooms) comprises :
- Large double bedroom with double bed, space for a cot or extra single bed, ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, washbasin, WC, period features (exposed beams, alcove and "secret" door)
- Second bedroom can be made up as a double or twin and can be taken without the main bedroom for smaller groups or those on a budget
- Bathroom with bath/shower, wash basin and separate WC; washing machine
- Large, open plan living room, with comfortable double sofa bed, flat screen TV, Sky Freeview channels, DVD player, free wireless internet, ipod dock, dining table for 4/5, wood burning stove
- Well equipped modern kitchen area with ceramic hob, oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher
- Baby and child equipment available including cot, high chair etc.
Note that access to the house is via a short footpath with a short steeper section at the top, so although it is kept snow free, it is not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet.
